Civil Defense of Pernambuco holds meeting to discuss Operation Winter 2024

The State Government held a meeting this Tuesday (7) to discuss the Integrated actions of Operation Winter 2024 together with the municipalities. The meeting was held by the Secretariat of Social Defense (SDS) in the auditorium of the Center for Applied Social Sciences of the Federal University of Pernambuco and was attended by civil agents from 44 cities.

Operation Winter 2024 began in January with technical visits to the municipalities of Agreste, Zona da Mata Norte, Zona da Mata Sul and the Metropolitan Region of Recife. According to state management, 128 cities were visited and guided in less than three months.

At this Tuesday’s event, civil agents participated in lectures offered by Sepdec, the Pernambuco Military Fire Department, the Pernambuco Water and Climate Agency, the State Department of Health and the Integrated Center for Operations and Social Defense.

This meeting with all municipalities and state and federal entities aims to integrate so that in the event of a disaster situation we can act more quickly and efficiently”, explains the Executive Secretary of Protection and Civil Defense of the State, Colonel BM Clovis Ramalho.

For the executive secretary of Civil Defense of Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Colonel Elton Moura, this integration is essential. “We are participating in this meeting to get to know those from other departments and other civil defense bodies so that we can join forces in an emergency situation and help each other”, he emphasized.

Representatives from the Brazilian Army, Neoenergia, Navy, Compesa, Brazilian Air Force, Secretariat of Urban Development and Housing, Secretariat of Water Resources and Sanitation, State Attorney General’s Office, Secretariat of Social Assistance, Fight against hunger and Drug Policies were also present. and State Secretariat for Planning, Management and Regional Development.
