In November last year, a large part of the Pantanal region of Mato Grosso was hit by a huge fire that destroyed more than 20 thousand hectares of the Encontro das Águas State Park, between Pocon and Baro de Melgaão.
The fire caused major environmental impacts, causing the death of animals and the extinction of green areas. According to the National Institute for Space Research (Inpe), in less than 15 days there were more than 3,000 fires in the biome, a historical record not recorded since 2002.
