The Gazette | Pickup truck is caught carrying car carcasses on highways in Southern ES; video

Videos of a pickup truck transporting the carcass of another vehicle were taken by The Gazette on two highways in the south of Espírito Santo this Friday afternoon (03). The pickup truck had a kind of platform adapted for transportation. But the question remains: can one car carry another like this? The reporter contacted the PM to find out.

The incidents were carried out on Rodovia ES 490, which connects Marataízes to BR 101, at around 3pm. And on Rodovia ES 489, which connects Atílio Vivácqua to Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, the registration was made at around 4:15 pm.

According to the Military Police, the driver of the pickup truck is committing at least three traffic violations, two serious and one minor. The serious ones are: carrying excess cargo in a vehicle intended for the transport of passengers and carrying cargo outside the vehicle. In both cases, the fine is R$195.23 and loss of 5 points on the National Driving License for each misdemeanor, in addition to vehicle retention. The minor infraction is for driving without paying attention to the essential precautions for road safety, for which the penalty is the loss of three points on the driver’s license and a fine of R$ 83.38.
