Students from the state education network in Minas Gerais now have the help of artificial intelligence (AI) in the preparation process for the National High School Exam (Enem). Starting this Wednesday (24), they will have access to the Estudos Play platform, made available by the State Department of Education of Minas Gerais (SEE/MG). The tool offers digital books in the four knowledge areas of the exam, as well as video classes, simulations, essay correction, individual reports, among other resources.

The technology is available to students in the 3rd year of high school and in the 2nd and 3rd periods of Youth and Adult Education (EJA). “One of the advantages of this tool is that the artificial intelligence is capable of reading handwritten letters”, reveals the director of Secondary Education at SEE/MG, Vanessa Nicoletti. According to her, the student can write the text in the format required by Enem, respecting the number of lines and font size, and then take a photo of the writing in the application.

“In a few seconds, this essay is corrected, bringing the five skills of Enem writing, pointing out possibilities for improvements, and recommendations for books and films that can complement the subject. We understand that this is a tool that will greatly enhance our students’ writing skills”, analyzes Vanessa Nicoletti. The platform evaluates aspects such as grammar, textual cohesion, argumentation and suitability for the proposed theme. Based on these criteria, the AI assigns a score to the text, offering immediate feedback to the student about their performance.

“I took the Enem last year and felt insecure, as I didn’t have a platform to study and guide myself in writing. I hope that this tool will guide me and help me in studying the subjects that can be covered in Enem, and in writing, especially in correcting essays, which will be very useful”, says Angelina Martins, student at Escola Estadual Modestino Andrade Sobrinho, in Sete Lagoas.

The simulations available in the application have questions with the same difficulty levels as the Enem. According to SEE-MG, they cover all areas of knowledge tested in Enem, such as Human Sciences, Natural Sciences, Languages and Mathematics. Through the tool, students receive reports on the average time spent on each question, as well as personalized study suggestions based on identified weaknesses.

How to access

The tool is available on the website www.enem.educacao.mg.gov.br. The student needs to enter their registration number in the username field, and their password. In the case of public servants, the username is the Public Servant Registration Number (MASP), and the password is the MASP number. The application, called Enem MG, is also available for cell phones (IOS and Android).

“On first access, you will be asked to change your password to one for personal use. Email and telephone details must be entered correctly to facilitate password recovery in case of loss. Students who do not know their registration number can contact the school secretariat for assistance”, informed the SEE, in a note.
