When considering the job market, several aspects are relevant to remember. Emerging trends in companies, expanding sectors that offer opportunities for professionals, better market insertion strategies and worker rights are some of the topics frequently covered in the media and in various personal circles.

In relation to legislation, workers may often not be fully aware of their rights, which makes the dissemination of information on the topic so relevant. One of the labor rights is related to the guarantee of rest, whether on days off, weekends or holidays.

As for holidays, the law provides that workers must not perform their duties on these dates, whether national, state or even municipal, with the right to paid rest being preserved. Those who work on holidays, as guaranteed by law, must receive double the daily rate.

However, undeniably, holidays are important dates for rest for workers, who often look forward to the dates to be able to recover their energy or to be able to do some different programming, which gains even more expectation when the well-known holidays are formed.

In this sense, Onlinecurriculo, an online CV platform, carried out a lifting mapping which Brazilian states have the most paid holidays and which workers in Brazil, consequently, have the most days off throughout the year.

National holidays

In total, Brazil has ten national holidays, in addition to five optional holidays. One of the dates that recently entered the country’s list of holidays was National Zombie and Black Consciousness Day, sanctioned in December 2023. The date, celebrated on November 20th, was considered a state holiday in many Brazilian locations, and now, due to its historical relevance, it becomes a day off for all Brazilians.
