The measure recently published by the federal government changes the regulation, supervision and evaluation functions of medical residency programs.

“By modifying the composition of the CNRM, the aforementioned change increases the presence of political entities, to the detriment of the representation of medical entities, thus compromising the quality and excellence of the training of specialist doctors in Brazil”, described the note.

Training doctors in the country at risk

CRM-AC called on all doctors and society in general to come together to reverse the proposal, as, according to them, “it threatens not only the training of specialist doctors, but also the health and well-being of the population of Acre” .

“It is essential to emphasize that the safety and effectiveness of medical care are essential pillars for quality medical practice in our country. Therefore, any change that could compromise such technical criteria in favor of political interests is unacceptable and deserves our firmest condemnation”, they state.

Notice of Repudiation

The Regional Council of Medicine of the State of Acre (CRM-AC) and the Continuing Medical Education Committee of CRM-AC come out to the public to vehemently express their rejection of Decree No. 11,999/24, which promotes changes in the National Medical Residency Commission ( CNRM).

The measure, recently published by the federal government, causes deep concern as it changes the regulation, supervision and evaluation functions of medical residency programs. By modifying the composition of the CNRM, the aforementioned change increases the presence of political entities, to the detriment of the representation of medical entities, thus compromising the quality and excellence of the training of specialist doctors in Brazil.

It is essential to emphasize that the safety and effectiveness of medical care are essential pillars for quality medical practice in our country. Therefore, any change that could compromise such technical criteria in favor of political interests is unacceptable and deserves our firmest condemnation.

CRM-AC and the CRM-AC Continuing Medical Education Commission call on all medical professionals and society in general to join forces to reverse this unilateral decision, which puts at risk not only the training of specialist doctors, but also the health and well-being of the population of Acre.
