Sicredi Centro-Sul MS/BA brings together members at the biggest investment event in the interior of MS – Dourados Agora

Sicredi Centro-Sul MS/BA – a cooperative financial institution – promoted on Thursday, April 25th, the biggest investment event in the interior of Mato Grosso do Sul, bringing together more than 500 members interested in learning about the financial market. The meeting took place in Dourados, at the Unigran event space, and was free for cooperative members.

The first panel of the afternoon was with the doctor in Applied Economics and chief economist at Sicredi, André Nunes, who covered the international and national economic scenarios, bringing information about inflation, interest rates, supply chains, wars, markets, currencies and projections. André presented the concentrated growth that occurred in Brazil in 2023, with emphasis on agriculture, family consumption and exports.

The economist also presented a negative projection for agriculture this year, with a reduction in the harvest in some states and the profit margin being the worst in the last 15 years when it comes to soybeans and corn. However, he pointed out the loss of debt among families, the drop in default rates, the heated job market and the investor’s watchful eye on interest rates. André also highlighted that, despite the short-term growth prospects, there is a need for fiscal adjustment to control the country’s mandatory expenses.

The second panel was with economist Raphael Palone, partner at FK Partners finance school, Dionatan Severo, economist and investment business manager at Centro Administrativo Sicredi, and César Nappi, economist and credit analyst at Asset do Sicredi. They discussed the prospects for investments, focusing on the importance of portfolio diversification.

Economists highlighted the importance of being clear about investment objectives, the amounts to be invested and the time window for each portfolio. According to Raphael Palone, it is possible for investors to make money even during a recession and, therefore, the importance of behavioral finance in guiding decisions. “There is a narrative of easy gains from investment, whereas in reality investing is so we don’t become poor. There is a bombardment of information with data that, sometimes, are not the best decisions.”

Everyone highlighted the importance of Invest+ Talks, which brings the cooperative financial institution closer to its members, providing support in investment decisions by offering specialized consultancy, assistance and guidance from the Sicredi Centro-Sul MS/BA team.

The third panel, mediated by Raphael Palone, was with the economist and director of Pension Products at Icatu, Henrique Diniz, and with the lawyer and financial planner, specialist in tax and succession planning, Luciana Pantaroto. Both emphasized the challenging theme of the event and the importance of financially planning family life, transforming money into something efficient, with emphasis on Private Pensions that help plan family succession, in addition to several benefits, one of which is that the product does not carry over in inventory.

Raphael Palone highlighted that only 4% of Brazilians save money and Luciana recalled that long-term investments are essential for retirement and for passing on a legacy. “Investors should only pay attention to legislation and taxation, looking for good products and good investment strategies”.

Courage, leadership and feeling

The first edition of Invest+ Talks ended with journalist Clayton Conservani, who led the series Planeta Extremo, on Rede Globo, exploring the full potential of nature and human limits on expeditions around the world. During the talk, the journalist made an analogy between financial investments and investments in stories told throughout one’s career, both of which take people out of their comfort zone, using their brain and heart.

Clayton said that it was during an expedition to Everest, the top of the world, that he further discovered his limits, talents and skills in how to keep a clear head in times of pressure. “And I was there to do my best every day, give my best. This is how the Sicredi team plans, organizes and controls unforeseen events for its members in the investment area”, highlighting the importance of planning and being alongside experts to make decisions.

“Prevention is a virtue. In Alaska I needed specific training to sharpen my senses and climb the coldest mountain on the planet. I listened to my leadership. You need to believe in people who are worth it in your life to make decisions”, emphasizing that Sicredi believes in people and has experts available to its members. “You go wherever you look, look at the path you want to follow. Our thinking generates feeling that generates behavior.” He ended the talk with the quote from American cyclist Lance Armstrong who says that “suffering is temporary and giving up is forever”.

During the program, a panel about Sicredi Centro-Sul MS/BA was presented by the executive director, Giorgio Bonato, the relationship manager, Renata Camargo, and the fundraising manager, Maurício Okabayashi. They presented the Cooperative’s positive numbers for the last five years; the social investments made over time and the complete portfolio with investment options.

The event closed with the president of Sicredi Centro-Sul MS/BA, Paulo Roberto Neves, who thanked the Cooperative team for organizing Invest+ Talks and the participation of members. The president highlighted the importance of investing resources in the financial, social and family life areas. “Everyone contributed with their stories that set examples for all our associates.”
