Rio – A shooting scared those who passed by Avenida Brasil, this Wednesday afternoon (8). Criminals carried out a raid and tried to steal the vehicle of a military police officer, who reacted. There were no injuries reported.

According to preliminary information, the raid took place between the neighborhoods of Coelho Neto and Guadalupe, in the North Zone of Rio. The Military Police reported that agents from the Vias Expressas Police Battalion (BPVE) were called for an attempted robbery on Avenida Brasil, on the lane towards Zona Oeste.

According to the corporation, upon arriving at the scene, agents discovered the crime and found a victim, identified as a military police officer. The off-duty PM reacted to this robbery attempt, which led to a confrontation with the criminals.

The PM clarified that there were no injuries reported. In addition, two motorcycles were seized and taken to a police station in the region, as well as two cars, the victim’s and a third party’s.

Shot in attempted robbery

On Tuesday night (7), a bus passenger was shot during an attempted robbery on Avenida Brasil, near Paciência, in the West Zone of Rio.

The case was registered at the 36th DP (Santa Cruz). According to the Civil Police, agents are looking for images from security cameras to discover who was responsible for the crime. So far, no one has been arrested.
