Tax lawyer Rodrigo Schwartz Holanda made an important warning for Santa Catarina in Conversas Cruzadas on Wednesday (24), on CBN Floripa. There is a risk of companies fleeing state territory with the tax reform approved by the National Congress and which is now discussing its regulation via complementary bills.

— I have no doubt that we will have companies and industries leaving Santa Catarina, unfortunately. In ten years there will be no more tax war, it ends with the Tax Reform — explained the lawyer.

Santa Catarina has known how to play the fiscal war game over the last 20 years. It reduced taxes and attracted numerous companies, mainly to port regions under advantageous conditions for importers. The result was growth in revenue and more jobs created.

There are three main factors attracting companies to Santa Catarina: human capital, logistics and lower taxes.

With the end of the tax war, we will have to invest in qualified labor and infrastructure. Huge challenge, as our fleet has grown and the current economic dynamism of Santa Catarina requires more than the current saturated and precarious roads.
