PM removes officers who sprayed pepper spray in black man’s face

It was the man himself who called the police. The information and images were published by state deputy Renato Freitas (PT-PR) on social media. He allegedly called to report that he was being threatened with a knife by the ex-husband of the owner of the property where he lived.

“Resident receives payment for rent that was already paid. The collector, ex-husband of the property owner, threatens him with a knife. The resident calls the police. With the arrival of the PM, the victim becomes a criminal. Another abusive action by police”, wrote Freitas in a publication on X.

In the images, you can hear the owner of the property. “He’s a good person, he’s a good tenant,” said the woman who appears in the video asking the two military police officers to calm down. O UOL tries to contact the man approached. The space remains open for demonstrations.

Federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP) filed a request for the Public Ministry to investigate the case. “I am suing the Public Ministry for yet another case of police violence committed in São Paulo,” he wrote in a publication on X.

Hilton called the approach racist. “As if the action with clear signs of racism from the PM was not enough, the Military Police apparently now serve to collect rent under physical threat,” he declared. “Upon arriving at the scene, the police apparently decided: the black man is to blame, and the person threatening him with a knife over rent is the one who is right,” he added.
