Family producers from Mato Grosso will present and sell their products in the space dedicated to family farming, at the Pantanal International Tourism Fair (FIT Pantanal 2024), which will be held between May 30 and June 2, 2024 at the Pantanal Events Center , in Cuiabá.
The fair, with the theme “Discover Mato Grosso: Tourism, Events, Agro & Business”, is the result of a partnership between the Government of Mato Grosso and the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of the State of Mato Grosso (Fecomércio) .
The products offered by family farmers reflect the biodiversity and regional culture of Mato Grosso. From Brazil nuts from Alta Floresta to the fine cured cheeses and milk sweets from Nossa Senhora do Livramento. The variety is vast and also includes artisanal cachaças and liqueurs from different locations, showing the ability of local producers to refine traditional drinks with a regional touch.
Furthermore, items such as banana chips and baru from the Quilombola Community in Capão Verde, Poconé, and babassu and baru derivatives from Agrovila das Palmeiras, Santo Antônio de Leverger, demonstrate the sustainable use of local natural resources.
The event will also be a showcase for less conventional products, such as coffee derivatives and vegan and natural foods from Cuiabá, as well as multiple varieties of honey, propolis and royal jelly.
The Secretary of Family Agriculture of Mato Grosso, Luluca Ribeiro, states that FIT Pantanal 2024 demonstrates the entrepreneurial capacity of family farmers, who contribute significantly to the economy of the communities and maintenance of the State’s food culture. “It’s a great opportunity for the population to learn about part of the infinity of family farming products, which have quality that the general public is often unaware of.”
