Carlos Miguel scores the goal, and Corinthians wins another one in the South American Championship

Corinthians performed again this Wednesday, at CT Joaquim Grava, after beating Nacional, in Paraguay, in Conmebol Sul-Americana.

Scorer of one of the goals in the 2-0 victory on Tuesday, full-back Matheuzinho underwent medical examinations and was found to have a sprain in his right ankle. The player began his recovery and did not have a return deadline stipulated by Corinthians’ medical department.

Matheuzinho’s presence against Flamengo, on Saturday, in the Brasileirão, is uncertain. For the game, Timão will be without midfielder Raniele, suspended for his third yellow card.

Midfielder Rodrigo Garro, who was released from the last match to attend the birth of his son, trained with the group during the first part of the activities and carried out physical training on the pitch with the physical preparation team. Fausto Vera, recovering from pain in the back of his left thigh, participated together.

Athletes who performed for more than 45 minutes performed regenerative work on the internal part of the CT. The others went to the pitch and, under the guidance of coach António Oliveira, practiced rondo, pressure marking and passing, in addition to a confrontation on a reduced pitch.

With five points, Corinthians occupies 14th place in the Brasileirão. There are two draws, two defeats and one victory in five games.
