More than 20 thousand people signed up for the CNH Social program in the first two days of launch by the Acre State Traffic Department (Detran-AC). The notice was launched this Monday (22) and aims to issue free driver’s licenses to low-income people.
Most of those registered are from the capital White Riverwith 9,892 registered people, followed by Cruzeiro do Sul, with 2,946 registered.
In this edition, there will be five thousand vacancies in the following categories: urban, rural and student, 5% of which will be allocated to people with disabilities. According to the government, more than 22 thousand people should benefit from the program by 2026.
According to Taynara Martins, president of Detran-AC, the vacancies are intended for low-income people in the 22 municipalities of Acre. “People have a long registration period. There are tiebreaker criteria, the first is whoever has the lowest income. In the student driver’s license, for example, some criteria are taken into account; on the urban CNH, others and, on the rural CNH, mainly, people can only register and be selected if they are from a rural area”, she explains.
Those interested in participating in the selection must register between April 22nd and May 21st on the Detran website (www.detran.ac.gov.br)
At the time of registration, the candidate will be able to apply for only one category, which are: free qualification in categories A or B, or even the addition of categories A or B, in addition to the possibility of changing from category B to D, an option in which the number valid driving license, must be informed at the time of registration.
Interested parties must also be registered with CadÚnico and active for at least four months; be 18 years of age or older; and know how to read and write.
Taynara also says that driver’s licenses can help create jobs. “There are 5 thousand vacancies destined for addition, first qualification, category A and B and addition of category, which could be category B, which could be category D. Which brings citizenship, the possibility of generating employment also for the people who are included ”, explains the president.
