President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) disembarks this Friday morning (26) in Minas Gerais to participate in the inauguration of an insulin factory, in Nova Lima, in Greater BH.
The company Biomm will operate near Lagoa dos Ingleses, in the Alphaville condominium.
The federal government is classifying the inauguration as “the resumption of insulin production in Brazil”. According to the federal Executive, the company will have the capacity to meet the demands of public and private health.
Lula will be alongside ministers Nísia Trindade (Health) and Luciana Santos (Science, Technology and Innovation). Mayor Fuad Noman (PSD) will also participate in the inauguration ceremony alongside the president.
Governor Romeu Zema (Novo) will not participate in the event. According to the governor’s office, he was not invited by the Lula government. A Presidency of the Republic denies the information and says that both the company Biomm, responsible for the factory, and the federal government itself made a formal invitation and that the Government of Minas had already informed about the governor’s absence. Zema announced that he will participate in two events in the Triângulo Mineiro — one in Uberaba and the other in Itapagipe — this Friday.
This will be the third time that Lula visits Minas Gerais in 2024. He participated in a meeting with several ministers in Belo Horizonte in February and visited Triângulo Mineiro for the inauguration of a fertilizer factory.
Lula’s schedule in BH
Itatiaia learned that Lula will disembark at 9 am at Carlos Drummond de Andrade Airport, in Pampulha.
The distance between the airport and the company is almost 50 km. Because of the distance and security concerns, the president will do the work by helicopter. Aircraft travel is a maximum of 15 minutes.
The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am. After the event, Lula will head to São José dos Campos, in the interior of São Paulo. The PT member will have at least three commitments in São Paulo. Due to his busy schedule, Lula must sleep in São Paulo.
