O CEO of Salvador Bahia Airport, Julio Ribas, receives this Friday (26) the Citizenship of the City of Salvador. The honor will be awarded in a formal session scheduled to take place, starting at 6 pm, in the Cosme de Farias Plenary of the Salvador City Council. The house is located in Praça Thomé de Souza, Centro.

The granting of the title, given to people born outside the capital of Bahia and who have provided relevant services to the municipality of Salvador, is the result of Project Resolution 149/2023. The matter was proposed by the councilor and former municipal Secretary of Culture and Tourism, Claudio Tinoco (União Brasil).

In justifying the text, the mayor argues that the work carried out by Ribas at the head of the aerodrome since 2018 plays a fundamental role “as a provocateur and influencer in the continuous search for advances in local tourism”. Furthermore, the parliamentarian highlights that the CEO articulates and proposes alternatives to improve the sector.

In this sense, Tinoco highlights that Ribas’ contributions involve partnerships “with local public authorities and commissions”.

About Julio Ribas

Julio Ribas is CEO of Salvador Bahia Airport and sub-coordinator of the Fecomércio-BA Tourism Business Chamber. He arrived in Bahia in 2018 to lead the team responsible for the concession of the airport in the capital of Bahia – granted by the Federal Government for a period of 30 years.

Born in Paraná, Ribas has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA). Postgraduate from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), the executive has experience in air and industrial transport management.

In addition to Vinci Airports, his professional career includes experience at other multinational companies – such as P&G, Mabesa, SCA do Brasil and Swissport, among others. In addition to Brazil, Ribas has worked in countries such as the USA, Mexico, Argentina and Malaysia.
