Revenue extends the deadline for submitting income tax declarations and paying taxes for 336 municipalities hit by intense rains in RS

RFB Ordinance No. 415 of May 6, 2024 was published in an extra edition of the Official Gazette of the Union, which defines the extension of deadlines for payment of federal taxes, including installments, and the fulfillment of additional obligations for taxpayers domiciled in 336 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul affected by intense rains from April 24, 2024.

This exceptional measure was adopted based on Ordinance MF No. 12/2012, of the Ministry of Finance, and State Decree No. 57,603, of May 5, 2024, issued by the Governor of the State of Rio Grande do Sul.

Understand:

Federal taxes due in April, May and June 2024 will be extended to the last business day of July, August and September 2024, respectively.

For example: the submission of the income tax declaration will be extended from May 31st to August 31st.

Furthermore, the deadlines for carrying out procedural acts within the scope of the Federal Revenue of Brazil, in relation to administrative processes of interest to taxpayers domiciled in the affected municipalities, will be suspended until May 31, 2024.
