Governor Paulo Dantas delivered, this Wednesday (24), fourteen ambulances to the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu). The new vehicles are part of the investments made by the State Government in the public health network, through the Salva Mais Alagoas program.

They are the result of a lease contract, with investment from the State Treasury, in the order of R$ 224 thousand per month. During the ceremony, the governor confirmed the construction of the institution’s new headquarters, in the Trapiche da Barra neighborhood, in Maceió.

The mobile units will be distributed to serve the population of Maceió Central, which is responsible for coordinating 16 decentralized bases, located in the I Macroregion of Alagoas in União dos Palmares, Viçosa, São Miguel dos Campos, Porto Calvo, Coruripe, Joaquim Gomes, São Luiz do Quitunde, Maragogi, Teotônio Vilela, Rio Largo, Murici, Marechal Deodoro, Barra de Santo Antônio, Colônia Leopoldina, São Miguel dos Milagres and Atalaia.

Alagoas currently has 35 decentralized bases that serve all 102 municipalities in Alagoas, in addition to two Regulation Centers in Maceió and Arapiraca.

“A very important delivery, which creates even more conditions for Samu, the Fire Department and the Health Department (Sesau) to save more lives quickly, providing all the conditions and logistics for citizens to have their health restored . These 14 ambulances also provide 70 jobs, which will make more health professionals available to Alagoas society. Salva Mais Alagoas is very successful and also has helicopters and planes. This equipment has already made it possible for us to seek out patients in various parts of the state of Alagoas and also in other regions of our country”, said Paulo Dantas

“We have the Endometriosis Outpatient Clinic, we have Alagoas Transplanta, Bate-Coração and AVC Dá Sinais. All of these programs need to work integrated and connected with Samu, with the Fire Department, so that these people reach care quickly and quickly, because, when this happens, the probability of their health being restored increases exponentially. So, Samu has a central and fundamental role in this integration, in this transversal policy, which will be a priority in our management and, together with the entire State Government, we will create the appropriate conditions for professionals and the people of Alagoas”, added the governor.

Paulo Dantas reaffirmed his commitment to building a new Samu headquarters in Maceió. “At the end of last year, I was there at the Samu headquarters, here in Maceió, in a headquarters that needs to be completely renovated, requalified, or rather, we have to rebuild a brand new headquarters for Samu professionals, because that headquarters is there in precarious conditions. Braskem is committed to resolving this, but we have to resolve it independently of Braskem and take it to court to demand reimbursement for the investments that were made and build a new headquarters for Samu. I have the obligation and commitment that, by the year 2025, we will deliver this brand new headquarters”, he reinforced.

For the general coordinator of Samu, nurse Beatriz Santana, this arrival of the vehicles represents a gain for the quality of care for the population.

“We will reach the person in need faster. Because those who are in need cannot wait. It is a gain in health and quality, making government programs work more quickly. So, Samu is paramount, Samu is health, it is life”.
