Michelle Bolsonaro goes to the hospital and will be isolated

The president of PL Mulher and former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro was diagnosed on Wednesday night (24/3) with Inluenza A. According to a note released by the party’s communications office, Michelle went to the hospital after feeling ill. “The National President of the Liberal Women’s Party required medical care as she was feeling unwell and in a lot of pain. Michelle underwent tests and it was found that she had contracted the Influenza A virus”, says the note released by the party.

The text also states that the doctor who treated Michelle Bolsonaro recommended isolation and rest for a week, therefore, events that would have been held this weekend will be rescheduled. “Unfortunately, in light of this illness, the PL Mulher events that would take place in Aracaju (SE) with the presence of Michelle Bolsonaro, on April 26th and 27th, were postponed, in principle, to May 10th and 11th, 2024 .”

With an eye on this year’s municipal elections, and with the aim of strengthening the party in the states, Michelle Bolsonaro has been making a series of trips around Brazil as part of PL Mulher’s agenda. Last Saturday (20/4) the former first lady was in São Luis do Maranhão.

Influenza A

According to FioCruz’s InfoGripe Bulletin, cases of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) have increased across the country and the Influenza A virus accounts for 20% of cases in the country.

Influenza viruses cause respiratory infections and manifest symptoms between the first and fourth day of infection. The most common symptoms are fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches and fatigue, as well as vomiting.

Transmission occurs directly, through secretions from sneezing, coughing or speaking; and also indirectly through contact with contaminated surfaces.
