The Civil and Scientific Police of Alagoas carried out another operation to combat child pornography this Thursday morning (25). Teams from the Crimes Against Children and Adolescents Police Station and the Criminalistics Institute carried out a search and seizure warrant at a house in Ponta Grossa, in Maceió, of a man accused of sending messages containing sexual perversion to a woman.

Delegate Teila Rocha explained that the investigations were started after a woman went to the police station to report this man who had started conversations with her on a social network. The saved conversation contained messages of incest, pedophilia, zoophilia, an alleged confession of a crime of rape against a child and attempts to persuade the victim to send videos and photos of her daughter, a minor.

The search and seizure warrant was issued by the 14th Criminal Court of the Capital, after an investigation by the DCCCA and aimed to identify and seize computers, cell phones, external hard drives, flash drives, memory cards. The court order also ordered the seizure of any other means of storing digital media that could be instruments of illicit acts.

“We have been investigating this case since March and, after obtaining robust evidence, we asked the Court for a search representation carried out today. I emphasize the importance of, in cases like this, victims always saving conversations, not remaining silent and reporting so that crimes like this do not go unpunished”, said the delegate.

The head of the Maceió Criminalistics Institute, criminal expert Charles Mariano, explained the agency’s participation in the operation using the mobile unit. Expertise during the search and seizure may provide important evidence for the course of criminal investigations, as well as pointing out evidence of other specific criminal practices.

“The participation of the Institute of Criminalistics is really crucial in the fight against pedophilia, as the expertise carried out at the scene of operations can provide important evidence for the investigation and detection of crimes. It is very important and sensitive work”, stated the head of the Maceió IC.

Ivan Excalibur, criminal expert head of internal forensics, explained that a notebook, pendrives and a smartphone were analyzed in the suspect’s home. The Motorola cell phone was seized and sealed at the examination site, following the entire chain of custody necessary for the forensic activity.

“The phone will be sent by the police station to the computer forensic crimes section and there in the laboratory, data extraction tests will be carried out from the smartphone device and chip using specialized tools, and this material will be analyzed in accordance with the objective defined by the authority. requesting to strengthen the police investigation”, explained the criminal expert.
