The 12th edition of Women’s Day of the Public Defender’s Office of the Federal District (DPDF) will offer several free services to women in vulnerable situations. The action will be held this Monday (6), from 8am to 5pm, at the institution’s Nuclão, located in the North Commercial Sector (SCN) Quadra 1, Rossi Esplanada Business Building, close to the Asa Norte Regional Hospital (Hran). The novelty of the edition is the rapid dengue tests, offered by the DF Health Department (SES-DF)

DPDF Women’s Day takes place on the first working Monday of each month. If it is a holiday, the action is carried out on the first subsequent business day. During the first 11 editions of the event, held since May 2023, almost 11 thousand attendances were recorded. Every month, new partnerships are signed with the aim of offering more exclusive services for women at risk due to social, economic and cultural factors.

In the area of ​​education, internship vacancies will be offered for secondary, technical and higher education, as well as vacancies for young apprentices aged between 14 and 24.

For the event coordinator and deputy general public defender Emmanuela Saboya, Women’s Day plays an essential role in promoting gender justice, protecting women’s rights and building more egalitarian and inclusive societies. “The action builds a support network between Fecomércio, Sesc, Senac, GDF bodies and institutions, as well as private companies, to offer support to vulnerable female audiences”, she states.

Free services

In the legal field, the initiative provides conciliation and mediation services, legal guidance, Family and Public Treasury initials, procedural monitoring, DNA tests and psychosocial care. In the area of ​​education, internship vacancies in secondary, technical and higher education will be offered, in addition to vacancies for young apprentices aged between 14 and 24, made possible by the Institute of the Federation of Commerce of Goods, Services and Tourism of the Federal District (Fecomércio -DF).

Support network formed by GDF bodies and institutions, in addition to private companies, offers support to vulnerable female audiences

Furthermore, the action will be in partnership with the National Commercial Learning Service (Senac), which will register for the Senac Free Courses (PSG) program. The entity will also offer beauty services aimed at women’s self-esteem, such as eyebrow design and makeup, which will be available in the morning, in addition to facial and upper lip waxing, feminine cutting and eyebrow design, offered in the afternoon.

The DF’s Secretariat for Economic Development, Labor and Income (Sedet-DF) will make job vacancies and services available to employers, such as Digital CTPS, unemployment insurance, professional guidance, Worker’s Basket, registrations and guidance for various professional and professional qualification courses. guidelines for the Prospera microcredit program.

Prevention actions and combating domestic violence against women are also part of the event. The Women’s Secretariat (SMDF) will participate in the initiative by delivering information kits and pamphlets, in addition to providing guidance to women who are victims of violence. The action will also include psychosocial guidance and awareness-raising services, promoted by the Secretariat of Justice and Citizenship (Sejus-DF).

The Housing Development Company (Codhab) will provide assistance regarding regularization and registration in housing programs.

The Mobile Social Assistance Reference Center (Cras), from the Secretariat of Social Development (Sedes-DF), will offer the provision of social assistance services, with the provision of 130 passwords. And the Federal District Environmental Sanitation Company (Caesb) will distribute drinking water throughout the event.
