Candidates from the CNU (Unified National Competition) — also known as the Enem of competitions — arrived this Sunday morning (5) at the test sites and were surprised by closed gates and empty institutions.
The unfortunate surprise came after the postponement of the test, announced on Friday (3) by the Minister of Management and Innovation in Public Services, Esther Dweck.
The decision was taken after rain left people dead in Rio Grande do Sul and storms hit Santa Catarina in recent days. Those registered claim that they were not aware of the announcement and that there was no notification of the change in date.
“I was scared, I walked around the block several times to make sure I wasn’t getting the location of the test wrong, I didn’t see any news, I didn’t receive any notification or email, I only found out now that it was postponed,” said Aline Kalafi, 32, one of the candidates who did not know about the postponement.
Kalafi, who is a nutritionist, states that he was preparing for the test since registering and that he did not see the topic being discussed in newspapers or social media.
She is applying for a place in the education, health, social development and human rights thematic block.

Almeida, despite saying he is slightly frustrated, will use the extra time to study more for the national team. MGI has not yet announced a new date for the test.
“I haven’t had much time to prepare, I’ve been studying, but I’m not a competitive candidate. On the one hand, there’s this issue of taking advantage of the opportunity. However, there’s a bit of anxiety for the test, which wasn’t planned.”
Candidates for the national contest also shared the shock of the postponement on X, formerly Twitter. Among the comments, the most common points to the lack of communication from the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services regarding the suspension of the exam.
Giovane Biasi de Oliveira, 60, currently works in aeronautics and said he did not check the MGI and Cesgranrio platforms again after last Monday (29), when he printed his registration confirmation card.
“I came without preparation for the test, after a week recovering from dengue fever, and it’s frustrating to arrive here and not find anyone,” he says.
He is trying to get a job in the thematic block on work and employee health, as a labor inspector.
Mayara Britto, 31, a graduate in architecture, states that she did not see any news or access the website of those responsible for the competition after Dweck’s announcement.
“Yesterday [sábado (4)] I took the day to rest after focusing on studying for the test. I left my old job in January to focus on studying for the exam. Coming here and seeing everything empty is desperate, because I didn’t know anything.”
Britto will take the test for vacancies in the infrastructure, exact and engineering thematic block.
The department responsible for organizing the competition, they said, sent, this Saturday (4), an email to candidates informing them of the postponement of the test and that the test would not be held on the scheduled date.
When contacted, the MGI states that a communication was sent about the postponement of the tests to all 2.1 million registered candidates and that on the main page of the Ministry of Management and the Cesgranrio Foundation there is a prominent communication about the postponement of the competition.

The government does not yet have a new date for the tests, which will be applied simultaneously in all 228 cities included in the notice. To define the date, it is necessary to wait for what will be done in relation to the South, because the rains and their effects have not stopped yet.
