This Thursday (25) the Department of Health confirmed seven more deaths from dengue in Cascavel, totaling 19 deaths from the disease in the municipality.
According to the epidemiological bulletin released, in the period from 07/30/2023 to 04/20/2024, referring to epidemiological week 16/2024, 22,783 cases of dengue and six of chikungunya fever were positive.
Data released by the Department of Health shows that of the 19, six dengue victims were under 30 years of age, and among them, five did not have comorbidities. Furthermore, it is possible to note that the majority of the 19 deaths occurred among women (12 victims).
It is worth remembering that controlling the vector is not solely and exclusively a function of the public sector, it is up to each resident to take care of their home (be it a house, apartment, farm), adopting measures that prevent the proliferation of the vector. Among the measures that must be adopted is the storage, until collection, of all solid waste – garbage; Be careful with gutters, balconies and water tanks, however, due to summer rains, common at this time of year, you must take extra care with objects that can accumulate water.
