A Military Police soldier is being investigated by the Civil Police on suspicion of killing student Débora dos Santos Bezerra, aged 17. He had a romantic relationship with the victim, according to witnesses’ reports to the police. The teenager was murdered with at least three shots to the head.
Débora was found dead around 8am this Saturday (4) on the banks of road 6, in Rorainópolis, southern region of Roraima.
On Friday night (3), the day before the morning the body was found, Débora left the house at around 11:40 pm to meet the PM.
“A police investigation was launched at the Rorainópolis Police Station to clarify the circumstances and authorship of the crime. The Civil Police are working with the name of a suspect with whom witnesses say the victim had a romantic relationship,” the Civil Police reported this Sunday (4). .
A friend of Débora, who is also 17 years old and gave a statement accompanied by her mother, told the Civil Police that the victim was dating the military police officer and that he was married. That night, according to the report, Débora received a message from him asking her to meet him “in the same place as last time”.
Débora then went to the meeting. Afterwards, the friend could no longer contact her. In the morning, she received the news that her friend was dead.
The friend also said that the victim had a disagreement with the police officer’s wife and had been threatened by her.
A Amazon Network found that on February 12 of this year, Débora registered a police report for aggression and threats against the wife of the soldier being investigated. In the report, she said that her wife had discovered their relationship and began to chase and threaten her, until one day she physically attacked her.
The student’s body was found by a 43-year-old farmer, who lives close to where she was. The victim was face down on the floor and was not carrying any identification documents. Débora was the mother of a 2-year-old boy.
