The Civil Police, through the Santa Rita do Pardo Civil Police Station, mobilized to investigate a series of environmental crimes that occurred on a farm in the rural area of the municipality.

According to a media report, the suspect deforested a permanent preservation area close to a stream, even altering the course of the river and these actions caused negative impacts on the flora and fauna of the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.

In order to prove the occurrence of the facts, the civil police, in collaboration with scientific expertise, attended the scene, recording and documenting the actions for later preparation of a report and continuation of the investigations. From this moment on, the investigation will focus on elucidating the authorship of the alleged crimes through a separate Police Inquiry.

It is worth mentioning that such practices can lead to criminal and civil liability, the latter of which can result in fines to be reversed in environmental projects.
