The Regional Electoral Court of Roraima (TRE-RR) began, this Tuesday (23), the preparation of the electronic ballot boxes that will be used in the supplementary elections in the municipality of Alto Alegre, in the north of the state, which will take place next Sunday (28). ).

In all, 56 ballot boxes went through the loading and sealing process. The preparation work is public and took place at the 1st Electoral Zone Registry Office, located on Avenida Santos Dumont, in the São Pedro neighborhood, in the capital Boa Vista.

The ceremony included application loading activities, functional tests, pre- and post-election verification audit (VPP), identification and affixing of seals to the section and contingency ballot boxes.

Judge Sissi Marlene Dietrich Schwantes, head of the 3rd Electoral Zone, and Kaylon Thuann Matos, head of the electoral registry, participated in the action.

They are provided for in the Electoral Code and do not cancel the traditional municipal election, which takes place in October this year across the country. The elected candidate will now be responsible for governing the city until December 31st.

With a population of 21,096 people and 25,454.297 km² of territorial area in 2022, Alto Alegre is the third most populous municipality and the fourth largest in area in Roraima. O electorate is made up of 11,216 people.

To vote in these April elections, voters must have a regular voter registration and electoral domicile by November 29, 2023.

The procedures for voting in a supplementary election are identical to those for a traditional election. To vote, you must go to the polling station with an official identification document with a photo and your electoral card, if you have it.

If you do not have a physical title, the voter can also present the e-Title to identify themselves to the poll worker.

In the voting booth, it is prohibited for anyone to carry cell phones, cameras, camcorders, radio communications equipment or any other device of the kind.
