On the morning of April 21, Ines went to a police station in Peixoto de Azevedo and filed a police report alleging that she was being threatened by the victims’ family because of a case relating to a rental contract, and that she had won the case.

In the complaint, Ines said that, the day before, three men had entered her house, looking for her, but only her husband was in the house. They then told her husband that she was in debt to them, and they allegedly threatened her son too.

According to the record, the rancher would have received messages on her cell phone, being intimidated with the collection of a debt, which she claimed she did not owe.

Mother and son are suspected of killing elderly people

On the same day that the report was registered, Ines and Bruno invaded the house carrying firearms and shot at the people who were there. Two elderly people, iidentified as Pilson Pereira da Silva, aged 69, and Rui Luiz Bogo, aged 81, died. A priest who was at the residence was injured.

Images from two security cameras show that at least eight people were in the house, when the woman came in shooting. The son went to the backyard and also fired shots. Ines, who appears in a blue blouse, had a pistol, and Bruno, in white, had a 12-gauge shotgun.

In another part of the video, mother and son appeared running away, carrying firearms.

For the police, who are still investigating the case, the suspicion is that the motivation for the crime is a commercial disagreement involving rent payments for the invaded house.

“The suspect rented that property from the owner and, upon leaving the residence, left some debts, which led to legal action, and from then on, several discussions and disagreements between them, which ended up resulting in this barbaric crime”, said delegate Anna Marien.

On the same day of the crime, mother and son stopped to buy beer, water and soft drinks when they were passing through the city of Matupá, about 13 km from the scene of the homicide. A security camera at the gas station convenience recorded the moment the suspect rushed the attendant while talking on the phone.

To the g1one of the convenience attendants said that the mother and son entered the place at around 3:20 pm, appearing to be worried and in a hurry.

“They were very scared. They brought water, soda and some long necks. There were three of them, one of whom stayed in the truck. The woman wanted him to charge quickly and said: ‘charge quickly, I’m in a hurry, charge, come on, quickly, quickly, I’m in a hurry”, she said.

According to the employee, the suspect spoke loudly on her cell phone and asked someone to take her pet dogs to some place, which it was not possible to identify.

Police arrest husband and brother-in-law of woman who broke into home and shot her son

Marcio was already being investigated for helping his wife and her son flee the scene of the crime in a pickup truck. Now, the police have found that his brother, and therefore Ines’ brother-in-law, also took part in the murders.

Mother and son suspected of double homicide surrender to police

On Tuesday afternoon, Inês and Bruno handed themselves over to the Peixoto de Azevedo police.

The arrests occurred after the family’s lawyer sought out the Civil Police team to communicate the clients’ intention to surrender and request that they be accompanied to their farm, where they were hiding.

According to the police, the arrest warrants against those under investigation were carried out on the property, but the firearms and the car used by them on the day of the crime have not yet been located.
