Fugitive from Justice in Alagoas for violent crimes is captured in Sergipe

Civil police officers from the DGPC Special Investigation Center (NIESP), coordinated by delegate Sidney Tenório, managed to capture in the city of Lagarto in Sergipe, this Tuesday (23), another fugitive from Justice in the state of Alagoas, sentenced to 26 years and 8 months in prison, for committing robberies and criminal association.

The arrest warrant, resulting from a conviction, was issued by the 4th Criminal Court of Penedo, Baixo São Francisco de Alagoas Region.

According to delegate Sidney Tenório: “with the support of civil police officers from the Regional Police Station of Lagarto/SE and the Intelligence Sector (CEMEP) of the prison system of that State, we had been monitoring the steps of this fugitive for a few days and taking quick action of the NIESP police officers, he was arrested and taken directly to the State of Alagoas, being presented on the same day, at the Regional Police Station of Penedo/AL”, highlighted the delegate.

He also highlighted that the captured man, despite his young age, now 21 years old, is considered highly dangerous, mainly due to his involvement in several violent crimes using firearms, committed both in the state of Sergipe and in Alagoas.

Crime history:

On July 20, 2021, three criminals, one of them with a revolver, announced a robbery at a grocery store in the center of the city of Penedo.

Using strong violence, the criminals claimed four victims, three of whom were customers and the person responsible for the establishment. They stole several valuable objects such as: cell phones, products that were for sale at the location and money, which together exceeded the amount of R$5,000.00 (five thousand reais).

“The victims were taken to the back of the establishment, where they were attacked by the criminals, who fled in a silver Peugeot/207 vehicle”, highlighted the police authority.

At the time, with the help of the air group from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP/AL), the Penedo Military Police managed to arrest the three robbers in the act. The criminals reacted to the police approach and the armed criminal was injured and later taken to the Arapiraca emergency hospital. With the quick action of the police, the stolen objects and valuables were recovered.

Still in 2021, the Court granted freedom to the robbers, where two of them once again became involved in criminal actions in the state of Sergipe.

The now captured man was arrested again by the Civil Police of Sergipe, accused of drug trafficking and other thefts, and sent to the prison system of that State.

He remained imprisoned for more than two years in Sergipe and was released in October 2023. In the city of Lagarto/SE, there was already news of his continued involvement in drug trafficking.
