Capuchin Franciscans of Rio Grande do Sul hold Provincial Assembly in Garibaldi

On April 22nd, in Garibaldi, the Provincial Assembly of the Capuchin Franciscans of RS took place. The friars who make up the Fraternal Animation teams (Guardian, Vicar of the fraternity and Economy) were present; The Secretariats for: Pastoral, Initial Formation, Vocational Animation Service, Media, Administration and Economy; and the Teams of: Ongoing Formation, Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC), Digital Media, Lay Brothers and Post-novitiate Coordination.

The assembly is representative, given the number of friars in the province. The methodology was the sharing of each secretariat and team; also with work in groups to debate some projects approved in the XXV Provincial Chapter and which are in the provincial planning and communications of provincial events and activities that we will have ahead.

According to Provincial Minister Friar Álvaro Morés: “The province was gathered in Garibaldi through an assembly. What is an assembly? It is a family meeting of our friars, and what is the objective of this assembly? We have to look a little, evaluate the day-to-day progress of the fraternities, the Province, everything that involves the province, whether in the mission, in pastoral care, in communication and in formation. On all fronts, an assessment and future planning took into account what needs to be done better and what needs to be done more.

It was a very serene, very peaceful day with the participation of practically all the fraternities represented here, we were in 66 sentences, so a good part of the province. We felt the result like this: very serene, also very useful, what emerged from the debates, the groups, the discussions are very practical things that will help our journey through this beautiful moment in life. There were young, middle-aged friars, friars a little older and with more experience in this meeting where we sat together and listened to each other, prayed together, and at the same time challenged ourselves together for the journey that lies ahead. .

Peace and good to all and may we always be united in this communion of love, prayer and also an ideal of life. Saint Francis unites us and has a very important challenge for us to create a true fraternity.”
