Gerdau, a Brazilian steel producing company, has 25 vacancies open for the Young Apprentice program for the Riograndense unit, Sapucaia do Sul (RS). To apply, you must be between 17 and 24 years old, be studying or have completed high school, in addition to living in municipalities close to the industrial plant, such as Porto Alegre, Canoas, São Leopoldo and Sapucaia do Sul. Registrations are valid between March 18th and April 18th and can be done via the website.

The program, which has an intentional focus on hiring women, self-declared black and brown people and people with disabilities, has a development path designed to enhance the future of each participant. The program’s benefits package includes a stipend, transportation vouchers, health plan, dental plan, among others.

For candidates approved in the program, the contract will begin in August 2024 and will last for two years. During the first year, apprentices will take a course in Electromechanical Maintenance of Steel Equipment and, during the second year, there is the possibility of experiencing the day-to-day life of the steel production unit, where they will work according to the need for operation in the region.

“We are looking for people who are willing to learn, develop and shape the future with Gerdau. On a daily basis, young people will deal with practical activities and will have a continuous exchange with their tutors and managers”, highlights Milena Ferreira Moreira , People leader at the Riograndense unit.
