The heavy rain that hit Belo Horizonte, on Tuesday afternoon (2), flooded the streets of the Floresta neighborhood, in the eastern region of the capital.

In videos sent to Itatiaia it is possible to see the water at the height of the car wheels. The image was recorded on Rua Matias Barbosa, corner of Pouso Alegre.

Also in the Floresta neighborhood, water flooded the garage of a building on Avenida Flávio dos Santos.

In a statement released by the Municipal Civil Defense, at 3:55 pm, the agency reported that BH had a forecast of rain showers of up to 20 mm, with lightning and wind gusts of around 45 km/h. The alert is valid until 8am this Wednesday (3).

On Tuesday afternoon, the West, Center-South, East and Northeast of Belo Horizonte recorded showers of rain. The hardest hit were the Center-South and East, which recorded extremely heavy rain (when it rains more than 5 mm every five minutes).
