According to GCM, the dwarf alligator, measuring around 1.5 m, will be delivered to a unit of the Special Environmental Protection Group (Gepa).
The department will be responsible for forwarding to the Wild Animal Screening Center of the Institute for the Environment and Water Resources (Inema).
Questioned by g1, the Municipal Guard’s communications department said that it suspects that the reptile reached the sea from “some river that flows into a beach in the city”.
The agents carried out patrols in the region and did not detect the presence of other wild animals outside their natural environment.
