Author of the approved bill that deals with the validity of an expert medical report that certifies irreversible physical, mental and/or intellectual, auditory, visual and reduced mobility disabilities, deputy Pedro Longo took advantage of this Tuesday’s session (2) , at the Legislative Assembly of Acre (Aleac), to present a proposal to change the project.

The change removes the term “expert” so that any report can be valid for an indefinite period of time.

“This law provides that the report is valid indefinitely, so that people do not need to keep renewing this document, however, a doubt was raised: whether only the expert report would have this validity or any other report. For this reason, we had to make changes to the law”, said the deputy.

Also highlighted in the project was a suggestion from the Public Ministry of Acre (MPAC), through promoter Ocimar Sales Junior, to create the State Card for Persons with Irreversible Disabilities (e-CEPCDI).

“This card will be issued free of charge, in digital format, and can be requested by the person or their representative, in the case of a child, teenager or disabled person”, he continued.

The document enables prompt assistance and priority in care and access to public and private services, especially in the areas of health, education and social assistance. It will also have priority in private establishments, this includes supermarkets, banks, pharmacies, cafeterias, restaurants, stores in general, among others.

“E-CEPCDI holders will be entitled to priority in the granting of places in daycare centers and schools in the public education network, upon presentation of the card by the legal representative, when requesting the place”, says an excerpt of the proposal.

The e-CEPCDI request must be made through a digital registration in the citizen service, to be made available on the Acre State Government website, with detailed guidance on registering at the security center. The printed version of the card will also be available and will be given to the applicant or their family.

The e-CEPCDI must be issued by the competent bodies within a maximum period of fifteen days, with a validity of five years, and must be revalidated at the end of this period, with the same number and the same period of validity, as long as it is requested again by the interested party or by the your parents, legal guardian or caregiver.

“A way to further improve this project that benefits people with disabilities and their guardians and caregivers. As many times as it is necessary to reformulate what we already have, we will do so”, concluded the deputy.
