The Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) will join, this Wednesday (3), the national strike of teachers and technical-administrative employees, and several courses will be left without classes.
Technical-administrative employees at federal universities have been on strike for salary recovery since March 11th. Following the class, federal basic and technical education professionals begin a national strike, for an indefinite period, this Wednesday (3).
According to Sinasefe, the National Union of Basic, Professional and Technological Education Servers, the movement has a membership of 230 teaching units in 18 states. Workers are asking for salary recovery in response to inflation in recent years, which ranges from 22% to 34%, career restructuring and the repeal of rules approved by previous governments.
Public universities
Report from the Federation of Unions of Technical-Administrative Workers in Public Higher Education Institutions in Brazil (Fasubra) points out that, on March 28, technical-administrative workers from more than 60 Brazilian universities had joined the strike. The information is from Agência Brasil.
In turn, university professors have an indication of a strike scheduled for April 15th. Furthermore, according to the Forum of National Entities of Federal Public Servants (Fonasefe), in response to the slow progress in salary negotiations, these professionals carry out in this Wednesday (3) O National Mobilization and Strike Day.

In relation to the Federal University of Minas Gerais, through the APUBHUFMG+the University declared adherence to the strike this Wednesday (3).
However, there is still no definitive position regarding the strike starting on April 15th. In day 11th of Aprila new assembly will be held to define whether UFMG, together with other public universities in BH, Montes Claros and Ouro Branco, will be part of the national strike.
