An agreement to regularize urban properties in 29 cities in Minas Gerais was signed this Tuesday afternoon (2), at the state government headquarters, in the Administrative City. In total, R$20 million was made available to make the project viable, which will serve at least 34 thousand families.
The ceremony was led by the governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema (NOVO), by the Secretary of State and Economic Development, Fernando Passalio, and with the participation of state and federal deputies and representatives of the municipalities covered. The closest benefiting city to Belo Horizonte is Sabará, approximately 21 kilometers from the capital.
According to Governor Romeu Zema, the program aims to guarantee greater security and legitimacy for the property, its owners and descendants. Therefore, the State government’s goal is to issue around 60 thousand documents by 2026. “Land regularization guarantees the owner to make improvements to the property, guarantee bank financing and the sale. Economic development depends on several factors, one of them is land regularization”, highlighted the governor.
How to regularize a property
To regularize the property, the beneficiary must contact the city hall and follow the criteria that will be requested by the technical areas. After studies and evaluations, the property document is issued.
According to Secretary of State and Economic Development Fernando Passalio, owners of invaded houses do not benefit. “This project validates residences established in neighborhoods. One of the beneficiaries, for example, is 103 years old, lived his life in the house and has only now managed to register the property. For him, this achievement guarantees that the property will remain with his descendants”, highlighted the secretary.
