ALAGOAS – Alagoas stands out in the advancement of the country’s renewable energy infrastructure in an Aneel auction.

Alagoas is taking significant steps in the renewable energy sector, with emphasis on its participation in the country’s energy infrastructure. The state was one of 14 Brazilian states, and one of seven in the Northeast region, that had lots sold in the transmission auction held recently by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel).

At the auction, the companies Centrais Elétricas do Norte (Eletronorte) and FIP Development Fund Warehouse were responsible for winning the lots that include works on power transmission lines in Alagoas. With planned investments of R$18.2 billion and the creation of approximately 35 thousand direct jobs, this auction represents an important boost for the state’s economy and development.

The energy transmission works will not only be limited to Alagoas, but will also pass through other states such as Minas Gerais, Bahia, Pernambuco, Paraíba, Ceará, Piauí, Tocantins, Maranhão, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul and Santa Catarina. Completion times vary between 36 and 72 months, promising significant improvements in the energy infrastructure of these regions.

According to data from the National System Operator (ONS), renewable energy already accounts for 92% of energy generation in the country. In Alagoas, the energy matrix has 87% of its primary energy production coming from clean sources, such as sugarcane biomass and hydroelectric plants.

The Secretary of State for Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Alice Beltrão, highlighted that the renewable energy sector has attracted more and more investments, providing economic and social development for Alagoas. With these energy infrastructure works, the state will expand its presence in the production of clean energy, contributing to a more sustainable and promising future.
