Intensified policing on holiday
During the long Easter holiday, between the 28th and 31st of March, the Highway Police Battalion intensified policing throughout the state of Paraná, with the application of police reinforcement on the highways in order to curb crimes, criminal offenses and traffic violations.
The results obtained presented a positive operational balance: this year 42 drivers were notified for driving under the influence of alcohol, while last year there were 19, a significant increase of 121%, of which 11 committed the crime provided for in Art. 306 of the CTB , for driving the vehicle with impaired capacity due to the influence of alcohol. Furthermore, 7,657 radar images captured from vehicles above the speed limit permitted on highways were recorded. In addition, 1,533 breathalyzer tests were carried out, and in 2023 there were 713, an increase of 115%.
Finally, there was an increase in traffic violation notices issued, last year there were 1,529, this year there were 2,219 notices, thus an increase of 45% was noted. These numbers represent the result of the day-to-day work carried out by BPRv, which also presented results of seizures of embezzlement, contraband and drugs during the long holiday period.
