The journalist Christiane Pelajo was announced this Tuesday (02) as the first talent hired by the new journalistic channel CNBC Brazil. According to the CNBC Times Brasil group, led by Douglas Tavolaro, She will anchor one of the network’s main prime-time news programs, which will be present on all platforms. Pelajo worked at Globo for 26 years and was one of the journalists who founded GloboNews in 1996.

“I am honored and excited to be an anchor at CNBC in Brazil. I am immersed in the universe of business, innovation, technology and creativity. This new challenge has total synergy with the work I have been doing over the last two years. Let’s change business journalism here in Brazil”, said Pelajo in a statement released by CNBC.

For Douglas Tavolaro, founder and CEO of CNBC in Brazil, Christiane Pelajo confers a significant innovative impact that the new journalism broadcaster has had across the country since the announcement of its launch at the beginning of the previous month.

Érica Reis was appointed as Head of Market Intelligence, journalist Rafael Gomide took over as Director of Operations (COO), and lawyers Marco Aurélio Cordeiro and Jaques Tiago Colares occupied, respectively, the positions of Vice-President of Legal and International Relations and Head of Compliance and Investor Relations.

Journalist Christiane Pelajo was hired by Grupo Globo for 26 years. She joined GloboNews in 1996, joining the team of presenters that launched the channel. After nine years dedicated to GloboNews, she joined the Jornal da Globo panel for more than a decade, standing out in covering political and economic topics, which were also prominent in the news programs she conducted at GloboNews.

At the same station, Pelajo made history by becoming one of the anchors of Conexão GloboNews, the first Brazilian news program presented by a female trio.
