In addition to the death in Brejinho de Nazaré, five other deaths due to suspected dengue fever, in Divinópolis, Paraíso do Tocantins, Porto Nacional are being investigated by the State Department of Health (SES-TO).
According to the Arbovirus Bulletin released on March 26, 2024, to date, one death from the disease has been confirmed in Brejinho de Nazaré and now five are still being investigated.
The data refer to epidemiological weeks 1 to 12, from 12/31/2023 to 03/23/2024, and indicate that around 131 cities in Tocantins have already reported cases this year, with 596 positive tests confirmed for the disease. In other words, a reduction of 51.9% compared to the same period last year, when the number of positives was 1,240.

Zika cases also fell. According to the bulletin, four cities confirmed around six cases, a reduction of 93%.
Two pregnant women were diagnosed with the disease, one in Araguaína and the other in Gurupi.
Chikungunya has only been registered in 10 municipalities, 52 to date. There are no deaths from the disease and no positive pregnant women.
