Falling tree leaves man injured in Santa Catarina

A 33-year-old man was injured after an Araucaria tree fell on him in the municipality of Santa Cecília, in Santa Catarina. According to the Fire Department, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon (01), around 3:30 pm.

According to the information, the man was cutting pins when he was hit by a log on the left side of his back and on his left lower limb.

The victim reported a lot of pain. To provide assistance, the firefighter rescue team, assisted by farm workers, accessed the location via a dirt road, traveling approximately 10 km, followed by a walk of approximately 1 km until reaching the location where the victim was.

After the firefighters’ initial assessment, the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) team took over the incident. With the victim properly stabilized, the journey to the ambulances was carried out on foot, crossing the pine plantation.

It was decided that the man would be transported by SAMU to receive the necessary medical care in Curitibanos. The procedure was carried out after ensuring that the victim was stabilized.
