Tocantins has a warning for intense rain across the state; see forecast | Tocantins

The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) issued a yellow warning of intense rain for the entire Tocantins. Rains can have water volumes ranging from 20 to 30 millimeters per hour. The notice runs until this Tuesday (2), at 10am.

The yellow alert represents potential danger, according to Inmet. During this period, residents should be careful in cases of gusty winds and the use of devices connected to the socket during lightning strikes.

According to the Institute, even with the guidelines there is a low risk of electricity cuts, falling tree branches, flooding and electrical discharges.

According to the meteorologist, Elizabete Ferreira, in March Palmas had a higher than expected volume of rain. The forecast was 264 mm, but the capital recorded 325 mm. In other cities such as Peixe and Porto Nacional there was a drop in rainfall.

Between March 25th and 31st, the northern region recorded the most rainfall, with volumes of 60 to 120 millimeters. The meteorologist, Francisco de Assis Diniz, also reported that it rained 50 to 60 millimeters in the central region and 30 to 40 millimeters in the southern region.

In Palmas, the forecast is for many clouds with rain showers and isolated thunderstorms this Tuesday (2). The maximum temperature will be 32 ºC and a minimum of 22 ºC.

In the north of the state, in Araguaína, rain is also expected to fall throughout the day. The minimum temperature will be 24 degrees and a maximum of 30.

In Dianópolis, the maximum temperature should be 29 degrees with the possibility of falling and a minimum of 22 degrees. Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in the municipality.

  • During gusts of wind, do not take shelter under trees
  • Do not park vehicles near transmission towers and advertising signs
  • Avoid using electronic devices plugged in

  • Stay away from open areas such as football fields. Also keep away from swimming pools, lakes, trees, antennas and elevated places

Equipment damage, what to do?

If any household equipment burns down due to power fluctuations, the person must request reimbursement within 90 days, according to Procon Tocantins. The dealership, once it receives the request, must respond to the consumer within 15 days.

An inspection must be carried out to prove the problem within 10 days. This procedure, according to Procon, should not have any cost for the person who lost the property. After this period, the company will also have another 20 days to arrange repairs, replacement or even reimbursement of the value of the burned product.

If it is a refrigerator or other appliance that is used to store food or medicines, this period is considerably reduced.
