The Tocantins Economic Development Council (CDE-TO) carried out. This Tuesday (26th), its 127th ordinary meeting will be held to deliberate and approve the granting of tax incentives to eight companies seeking to invest in Tocantins. In addition, the counselors also analyzed two projects that request resources from the Economic Development Fund (FDE-TO).

The granting of benefits to six companies in the expansion modality and two for implementation were approved. Together, the companies are expected to generate 677 new jobs. The CDE also approved with reservations the request for funding from FDE-TO to promote the project to revitalize the poultry slaughterhouse in Crixás, Aliança do Tocantins and micro-region, in the amount of R$599,039.13.

The project will be carried out by the Association of Small Farmers of Vale Santa Tereza PA-Arlindo, from Crixás. However, for the appeal to be released, the Association must resolve the notes made by the counselors. Only then does the project return to the Council to be voted on again.

Another project that benefited was the Vale do Araguaia Business and Technology Fair (Feneva-Tec 2024), which will be held by the Commercial, Industrial, Agribusiness and Services Association of Paraíso do Tocantins (Acip). In this case, the Government of Tocantins, through FDE-TO, will offer the structure to hold the event. The financial resource worth R$8 million to hold fairs throughout the state was previously approved at the 125th ordinary meeting, held on January 22nd.

Councilor Fabiano do Vale highlights the importance of the CDE in the relationship between the Government and companies for the economic development of the State. “Governor Wanderlei and Secretary Carlos Humberto have attended to us and, in fact, listened to what we are saying. For us, it is very pleasurable to be able to contribute and see that our opinions are being put into practice,” he says.

The president of CDE-TO, Carlos Humberto Lima highlights the importance of the Council for economic development. “We have a very strategic council and, as always, our meetings are very rich and useful for the State’s development process. We ended 2023 with good results and are working to ensure that this year continues this growth trend. We will continue to advance with the economic development of Tocantins, decentralizing the economy to a State with more jobs and income for the entire population”, concludes the secretary.
