Minister of Transport signed a work order for the asphalting of BR-020 in Bahia, the region bordering BR-235, in the State of Piauí
The Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, announced the asphalting of BR-020, in the section that connects Bahia to Piauí, by December of this year. The announcement was made this Monday (April 1, 2024), during an event with the Minister of the Civil House and former Bahian governor, Rui Costa (PT-BA).
The 2 ministers together delivered the last section of the paving works on the BR-235 in Bahia, known as the Vaqueiro highway. The R$117 million project was completed through the New PAC (Growth Acceleration Program).
During the ceremony, held in Campo Alegre de Lourdes, a municipality located in the north of Bahia, the work order for asphalting BR-020 in Bahia, the region bordering BR-235, in the State of Piauí, was also signed. R$30 million will be invested in this work.
In a speech, the Minister of Transport also said to the mayor of Campo Alegre de Lourdes, known as Dr. Enilson (PC do B) so that he “take care of the election period”, “win the elections” and prepare a “big party” for delivery of the work. According to Renan Filho, if they do not win the election in the municipality, “the party will be discouraged”.
“I want to return in December so we can deliver the asphalt to São Raimundo Nonato ready. So, mayor, prepare the party, to give it time to still be in your mandate. Take care of the electoral period, win the elections. What elections does the ‘caba’ really have to win, so that we can have a big party in December. Because the party will be discouraged if they don’t win the election here. So, win the elections so we can inaugurate the road to São Raimundo Nonato with a beautiful Christmas party and a promising new mandate for the city of Campo Alegre de Lourdes”he said.
Minister Rui Costa also announced other works in the Bahian region: opening of 8 federal institutes and a regional polyclinic. “And our president Lula [PT] want to come here next year to inaugurate each of these works”he stated.
