Between this Good Friday, the 29th, and Easter Sunday, the 31st, Tocantins should be marked by rain, accompanied by atmospheric discharges and gusts of wind with speeds that can reach up to 50 km/h. The early hours of Friday and Saturday will be intense in the North and Center of the State. On Saturday, the rains should be concentrated with greater intensity in these regions, in addition to western Tocantins. Temperatures will increase, with maximum temperatures predicted at around 32°C to 34°C in Palmas.

For Monday, April 1st, there are chances of intense rain during the early morning and morning periods in the North and West of the State. On Tuesday, the 2nd, a reduction in the intensity of rain is expected in the morning, with an isolated occurrence, mainly in the west of the North and Center regions. The information comes from Grupo Storm, a company specialized in monitoring and forecasting climate events, which monitors climate conditions in the region in partnership with Energisa Tocantins.

As Energisa Coordinator, Tony Franco, highlights, it is extremely important that the community adopts preventive measures during periods of intense rain, such as those forecast for the next few days. “Tocantins has a high frequency of lightning strikes. In January of this year alone, we recorded almost half a million lightning strikes. During a storm, the first recommendation is to unplug electrical appliances from the sockets to avoid short circuits or damage to the devices. Furthermore, it is inadvisable to manipulate cables or antennas to prevent electrical accidents”, he warns.

In addition to taking care of atmospheric discharges, he highlights the need for special attention to electricity poles. “To date, we have recorded 66 traffic accidents involving poles colliding throughout Tocantins. Although this number is lower compared to the same period last year, where 125 incidents were recorded, it is still a cause for great concern. With the arrival During holidays and weekends, it is common for many people to get involved in travel and leisure activities. That is why it is important to reinforce the importance of taking extra care and attention when driving, in order to prevent accidents”, he emphasizes.

In addition to the inconvenience caused, replacing a new structure can require a considerable amount of time, ranging from three to four hours, and has an average cost of R$3,000. However, it is important to highlight that this value can exceed R$30,000, especially when transformers and other equipment are involved, for example. “Even in the face of the financial impact, the priority must always be to preserve lives. Therefore, it is essential that people avoid approaching the scene of accidents”, reinforced Franco.

In addition to this guidance, the concessionaire reinforces that simple actions can prevent damage and incidents. For example, if there are broken or fallen electrical wires in the street, it is important to keep your distance. Below, Energisa Tocantins provides more guidance on how to protect yourself during storms:

– Avoid contact with objects with a metallic structure, such as stoves, refrigerators and taps, which are connected to electricity;

– If you are in a car during a storm, stay in the vehicle as it offers excellent protection against lightning;

– Avoid taking a shower during storms, as there is a risk of electric shock if lightning strikes on the power grid;

– Disconnect all electronic devices and appliances from the sockets;

– During a storm, when using a landline or cell phone while charging, lightning can hit power and telephone lines in the street, causing overload on the network. Turn off the device to avoid shocks;

– Avoid open places and flat surfaces, such as football fields, swimming pools, rivers or seas. If your body is at the highest point on the surface, it can attract lightning and suffer a lightning strike. Seek shelter in a safe place, but do not hide under trees;

– Do not handle equipment connected to the socket, antenna or telephone network;

– In case of broken or fallen electrical wires in the street, keep your distance.

Energisa also recommends that customers report incidents involving the electricity grid through its service channels: by telephone, dialing 0800 721 3330; through the Energisa On app, available on both Google Play and the App Store; by the Digital Agency on the website energisa.com.br; and via virtual attendant via WhatsApp (Gisa) accessible here.
