Former president Jair Bolsonaro participated in the ceremony of Senator Izalci Lucas joining the Liberal Party, which attracted a crowd. Bolsonaro honored Izalci and said:
“No one does anything alone. We always owe someone something. But we, who are up here now, are privileged because we have the power to collaborate to change the destiny of our Brazil, because you gave us a power of attorney to be here. And we owe each of you respect and loyalty.”
Bolsonaro refuted the narratives that politicians are all the same and that they are getting worse, and recalled that the right has been growing in parliament.
He recalled that, upon joining the PL, the party created a “decalogue” with the values that are defended by its members. Bolsonaro mentioned the defense of life, the right to defense, private property, economic freedom, among others, in addition to remembering his government’s achievements and pointing out the setbacks that are being promoted by the Lula government.
Bolsonaro celebrated the increase in the PL bench in the Senate and stated that this representation will continue to increase, bringing together people who share the same values.
The former president said:
“Izalci’s arrival is another heavyweight for us and I’m sure he will bring a lot of joy to everyone here in the DF with his work in the Federal Senate.”
