4th edition of BSB Plano das Arte opens call for independent spaces

The program offers financial support grants and vans to take the public free of charge to exhibition sites, ateliers and cultural centers in the Federal District

The organization of BSB Plano das Artes announces the opening of call for select galleries, ateliers, cultural centers and autonomous spaces to participate in the 4th edition from the project. The event, which seeks to increase the visibility of independent spaces in the Federal District and professionalize agents who are part of the visual arts ecosystem in the Federal District, will hold two calls: The first will select eight spaces that will receive financial support and participation in scheduled routes with vans, that they will transport the public free of charge to the visiting sites; and the second, which will select the spaces that will participate in the scheduled routes served by the vans. In total, they will be included in the calls 18 (eighteen) autonomous spaces. To the Registration begins at 8am on March 25th and interested parties must fill out the electronic form https://forms.gle/B5QypVrZms15Lyrq5 until 7pm on April 6th. The announcement of the selected spaces will be made on the event’s social networks @planodasartes and on the website www.planodasartes.com.br. The BSB Plano das Artes is carried out with resources from the Federal District Culture Support Fund (FAC-SECEC-DF).

“With each edition, we emphasize some aspects or agents of the local arts system and launch visiting routes to galleries, ateliers, autonomous cultural centers, collectives and art schools, training educators and stimulating critical production, always with a focus on presenting and making visible contemporary productions of visual arts”, says Cinara Barbosa, creator and coordinator of Plano das Artes. “In this edition, which will take place in person on the 7th, 8th and 9th of June, we will work to promote and strengthen the exhibition spaces, taking the Plano das Artes public to the scheduled routes, through free vans that will circulate throughout the regions of the Federal District , as happened in previous editions with enormous success”, adds the project coordinator.

Calls

There will be two calls for independent spaces. A call for PLAN SUPPORT offers participation grants for eight spaces to receive funding to hold exhibitions and activities. In addition, they will be part of the scheduled routes that will take the public free of charge in Plano das Artes vans. Small or experimental galleries, autonomous cultural centers, ateliers and training spaces that carry out some type of exhibition proposal and can receive group visits can register. It is important to highlight that registered spaces need to prove that they are capable of receiving groups on the Plano Artes programmed routes.

A call for PLAN SUPPORT will offer the following advantages to selected spaces:

• handbag financial support worth R$ 1,500.00 (one thousand five hundred reais) for carrying out activities during public visits;

• Visibility and promotion of your space through the BSB Plano das Artes advertising channels.;

• Opportunity to join a collaborative network and strengthen the local cultural scene and national visibility;

• Insertion in the public visitation itinerary with project vans.

A call for PLAN MEMBERSHIP offers spaces that join to visit scheduled routes with mediation. In general, autonomous visual arts spaces in the administrative regions of the Federal District can register, such as galleries, ateliers, cultural centers, hybrid spaces that host multiple exhibition and training activities, rural studios, pop-up spaces created for the 4th PLAN OF ARTS edition.

A call for PLAN MEMBERSHIP will offer the following advantages to selected spaces:

• Inclusion in cultural routes with visits from BSB Plano das Artes vans;
• Disclosure of the space in route promotion materials;
• Opportunity to welcome a diverse audience interested in the arts.

In addition to the spaces that will be served by the programmed routes, there will also be the participation of spaces through mapping carried out by the Arts Plan with the offer to the public of spontaneous routesin which the audience themselves organize their script.
