Businessman is arrested after delivering a suitcase with R$415,000 to a public servant in Roraima

A businessman was arrested this Friday (26) after handing over a backpack containing R$415,000 to a public official responsible for a tender in Roraima. Two public servants were also arrested.

Federal Police agents caught the delivery of the money. They saw the moment when the representative of a company that won a bid handed the backpack with money to the president of the bidding committee of Bonfim (RR) city hall.

The businessman and public servants were arrested for active and passive corruption. They were also charged with criminal association and money laundering.

In total, more than R$460,000 in cash, three cars and documents from companies related to the alleged scheme were confiscated. The information comes from the Federal Police. The names of those involved were not disclosed.
