Firefighters from Minas Gerais travel to Rio Grande do Sul to help victims of the rain
Military personnel from the Minas Gerais Fire Department traveled this Thursday (2) to Rio Grande do Sul to work in cities affected by the rain. The state of Rio Grande do Sul is in public calamity.
The corporation has experience in rescues and rescues in dam collapses in Mariana and Brumadinho, missions in Africa and assistance in Petrópolis (RJ), devastated by rain in 2022.

Furthermore, there are 60 missing and 36 injured, due to flooding and landslides.
Also according to the agency, around 15 thousand people are away from home, with 4,645 people in shelters and 10,242 homeless.
In all, 154 of the 496 municipalities recorded some type of problem, affecting more than 71 thousand people.
Rescues are hampered due to bridges destroyed or washed away by the force of water. There are around 135 total road closures.
