Campus Party: game uses technology to teach students about values

-

Students from the public school system in the Federal District participated, this Thursday (28), in the NaMoral Project, an integrity game that works on the concepts of human values. The game was held on the Fábrica de Empreendedores stage, at Campus Party, at Arena BRB Mané Garrincha.

Developed by the DF Education Department (SEE-DF) in partnership with the Public Ministry of the DF and Territories (MPDFT), the project uses social technology and active methodologies combined with a gamified strategy. The objective is to promote the training of children and adolescents in the construction of intact ecosystems.

“The game emerged from an approach that considers the character development of these students to be as important as the content taught in the classroom”, explains Aécio da Fonseca, one of the teacher trainers at the Center for the Improvement of Education Professionals (Eape).

According to the teacher, gamification is used as a tool to engage young people in resolving ethical dilemmas, making learning more dynamic and engaging. “In it, students participate in seven missions based on three pillars – altruistic, individual and collective integrity”, he details.

Fonseca states that the objective is to expand the project and include more public schools: “In 2022, NaMoral was in 13 schools in the DF and, last year, we reached 24. This year we already have 94 high schools and of the final years of elementary school. We also want to take it to the initial grades.”

This afternoon, students from three public schools in the DF participated in the NaMoral Project: Centro de Ensino Fundamental (CEF) 11 in Taguatinga; Educational Center 2 and Colégio Cívico Militar de Brazlândia. On that occasion, they resolved common everyday ethical dilemmas in a playful and intuitive way.

Student Lianna Cavalcante, aged 14, approved the experience. “It was really cool to be able to participate in this game. I think it’s a very interesting way of approaching these topics with students and schools,” she says. The CEF 11 student from Taguatinga also celebrated the opportunity to participate in the Campus Party for the first time: “A lot of fun, I wish I could stay longer to enjoy the whole event”.

Festival

Present in more than 30 countries, Campus Party is the world’s largest festival about technology, disruption, entrepreneurship and STEM. It is the sixth time that the event has arrived in the federal capital, attracting thousands of technology enthusiasts from Brasilia.

The festival transformed Mané Garrincha into a great technological meeting. As in previous editions, there are camping spaces with capacity for 2,500 tents. Campusers also have a full agenda of workshops and lectures, as well as several stands.

In addition, three stages are distributed throughout the arena where names such as Ronaldo Lemos, Mari Krürg, Pedro Loos, Iberê Thenório, Nathalia Rodrigues, Paulo Cacella, Marcia Barbosa, Dado Schneider, Ricardo Cappra, among others, will pass.
