The Civil Police (PC) increased the number of operations with the intention of combating organized crime in Alagoas. As a result of the actions, several criminal organizations were identified, with the arrest of suspects of drug trafficking, homicides and money laundering.

Delegate Igor Diego, from the Directorate for the Repression of Corruption and Organized Crime (Dracco), was interviewed on the Gazeta Bulletin Program, on GazetaNews, this Thursday morning (28), and cited as an example the success of Operation Hades, launched on February 1st of this year, which arrested 50 people in Alagoas and 16 other states in the country.

The action also seized an aircraft, boats, cars, jewelry, money, rifles and more than 100 kilos of drugs. According to the investigation, criminal organizations moved more than R$300 million, operating mainly in drug trafficking and money laundering.

“The work being done aims to make qualified arrests that solve the problem of crime. The work requires a lot of time, so that all the evidence is gathered to support future judicial requests for search, seizure and arrest. We are moving away from ‘more of the same’ and improving the service”, highlighted the director.

Furthermore, the PC has invested in technology, intelligence and police training to improve results. The main one, according to Igor Diego, is the decapitalization of criminal organizations, with the identification of all members.

“Our day-to-day work consists of mapping these criminal organizations. And we have technical support for this monitoring, achieving good results. Currently, we don’t have any ‘famous’ criminals in Alagoas who are not in prison. The scenario is under control, but we have to move forward every day, given the challenges that arise”, he reinforced.
