The soybean harvest registered gradual progress in Rio Grande do Sul, according to a survey by Emater/Ascar-RS. There were interruptions due to precipitation, as well as resumption and acceleration after the decrease in humidity. However, the moisture present in the soil still does not allow harvesting to be extended into the night, as it causes difficulties in moving the cutting platforms, resulting in greater adhesion of moist soil in their lower parts. The estimate is that 8% of the cultivated area has been harvested. The projection points to an increase in the pace of operations in the coming days, as the area in the maturation phase reaches 42%.

Productivity shows an increase as less early crops finish their cycle, reinforcing forecasts of a highly satisfactory harvest in most of the State. The weight of the grains stands out, which is considerably higher than in previous harvests, contributing significantly to the positive results of the crops. The adequate quality of grain formation is attributed to the regular pattern of precipitation throughout the crop cycle, as there was only a brief period of drought, which did not compromise the productive potential in most of the State.

The projected state productivity is 3,329 kg/ha. In crops in the grain filling stage, which represent 46% of the total cultivated area, significant pressure from Asian rust is observed, especially on leaves located in the lower third of the plants. This situation is being continuously monitored and controlled, identifying small regions where leaves have fallen prematurely due to ineffective control of the disease.
